Doctoral Commencement Assembly and Processional

Assembly for the university-wide doctoral ceremony in the Stephen O'Connell Center will begin at 12:30 pm. It is important to be on time and dressed in your regalia when you arrive at Gate 4. Students who do not have regalia will not be permitted to participate in the ceremony. Students who arrive after their college has started to process in will be seated in the back row and will not be able to sit with their college.

The Processional and Recessional

The processional will begin promptly at 1:30 pm when the marshals will lead you and your fellow candidates onto the arena floor. Once seated, you are asked to remain seated until the marshals ask you to stand for the entrance of the platform party. Remain standing until after the singing of the National Anthem.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, there will be a platform party recessional. The marshals will then lead graduates in a recessional.

The Conferral of Degrees

Degrees will be conferred by a member of the Board of Trustees or UF's president. Ph.D. and Ed.D. degrees are conferred, then Au.D., D.B.A., D.P.M, D.P.T., D.N.P. and PharmD degrees.

Individual recognitions of all new doctors follow the conferring of degrees.
