MARSHALS WORKING AT THE CEREMONIES

Faculty working at the ceremonies should come through Gate 4 of the Stephen C. O’Connell Center 2 hours prior to the posted start time of the ceremony.  

Proceed to the basement level in the Performer’s Dressing Room where you will receive a marshal gown to wear over your business casual clothing. Comfortable shoes are recommended, as these roles require periods of standing and walking.   

Make-Up Marshal Job Instrux provides an outline of the duties of this role. A training will be held on two hours prior to the ceremony to ensure you understand your marshal assignment.

You'll assist with seating the graduates in the correct sections for the hour the doors are open prior to the start of the ceremony. All graduates should be in their seats 15 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony.

The ceremony will be approximately 2 hours. You will be needed through the duration of the ceremony. Afterwards, you will return your marshal robe to the Performer’s Dressing Room.                                                                                        

Time breakdown: 10-minute check-in and enrobe. 50 minute training. 1 hour grad seating. 2-hour ceremony. 15-minute check-out and de-robing.
TOTAL: 4 hours and 15 minutes

STAFF WORKING AT THE CEREMONIES

Staff working at the check-in station should arrive at Gate 4 at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center 90 minutes prior to the start time of the ceremony. Staff remain at the check-in gate. Business casual clothing is appropriate, “Gator Gear” is recommended but not required. A name tag will be provided. Comfortable shoes are recommended, as these roles require periods of standing.

Make-Up Check-In Helper Job Instrux provides an outline of the roles at the check-in station. A training will be held upon your arrival ceremony.

The ceremony will run from approximately two hours, but you will be needed only through the first 30 minutes (approximately) of the ceremony.

Time breakdown: 30-minute training upon arrival. 1-hour of heavy student check-in time. 30-minutes of light student check-in time after the ceremony has started. 
TOTAL: 2 hours (maximum)

EMPLOYEE PARKING FOR THE CEREMONIES

Employee parking for the ceremonies will be in the North End Zone lot of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, Murphree lot and overflow will be in Flavet Field.

The O'Connell lot and garage should be reserved for the graduates and their guests. This is especially important for Friday and Saturday ceremonies when a portion of the O'Connell lot is also set aside for the vaccination event at the stadium.
