MARSHALS WORKING AT THE CEREMONIES

Faculty scheduled to serve as a marshal should park in the O'Connell Lot 2-hrs. & 15-mins. prior to the ceremony and enter the O'Connell Center through Gate 4 at the concourse (ground) level.

Proceed to the basement level in the Performer’s Dressing Room where you will receive a marshal gown to wear over your business casual clothing. Comfortable shoes are recommended, as these roles require periods of standing and walking.

An outline of your assigned marshal role will be sent approximately one month prior to the ceremony. A training will be held on the arena floor 30 minutes prior to doors opening for the grads and guests. This is to ensure you understand your marshal assignment.

90 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony, the doors will open and marshals' roles go into action. We start checking students in, dividing them by college, and lining them up for the processional.

There will be a 30-minute processional, then the ceremony will run approximately 2 hours. You will be needed through the duration of the ceremony. Afterwards, you will return your marshal robe to the Performer’s Dressing Room.
