More Information

University Wide Commencement
All bachelor’s, master’s and specialist’s degrees are conferred at the university wide ceremony Friday evening. All graduates and their guests should attend this ceremony.
College Recognition Ceremony
Ceremony of a single college where individual names are called.
University Doctoral Ceremony
Where most doctoral candidates are recognized and hooded.
Degree-Specific Ceremony
Ceremony hosted by an individual college for a specific degree that will be conferred.
Other End-of-Semester Celebrations
Celebrations hosted by clubs, organizations, etc. to recognize their graduating members.

Nearly 10,000 candidates for undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees graduate in our spring semester. Congratulations to our Gator graduates and their guests!

While we hope to host these events across our campus April 28-May 3, our in-person Spring 2021 graduation weekend will occur only if the threat of COVID-19 is overcome through widespread administration of a vaccine. If that does not happen, we will postpone them. We urge our candidates and guests to plan accordingly, building as much flexibility as possible into travel arrangements and lodging reservations.

Graduates and their guests are encouraged to attend two events: the University Wide Commencement Ceremony and a college recognition ceremony. The University Wide Commencement will be held Friday evening at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. College recognition ceremonies will take place throughout the extended weekend, so loved ones will need to know their graduate's college to look up their ceremony date and time.

PhD's, EdD's, AuD's, DNP's, DPM's, DPT's, and their families are invited to the University Doctoral Ceremony on Thursday evening.

Other specialized doctoral degree recipients will be recognized at degree-specific doctoral ceremonies. These included DVM's MD's, JD's, SJD's, PharmD's, and DMD's.

NOTE: The Make-Up 2020 Ceremony weekend is May 6-9. More information about that ceremony weekend, including registration will appear at https://commencement.ufl.edu in December of 2020.
