Regalia is an important part of the commencement tradition. For details about regalia, contact the UF bookstore directly:

Cap & Gown Ordering

Graduating students order their regalia (cap and gown) through our regalia provider, Herff Jones. . Regalia will then be mailed directly to the ordering candidate.

Any regalia orders received after March 22, 2024 will incur a late fee and will not be mailed, the student will have to pick their order up at the bookstore starting on April 22, 2024.

Doctoral candidates order form

Master's and Specialist's degree candidates purchase a cap with black tassel, gown with slitted sleeves, and hood depicting the color of their college. 

Bachelor's degree candidates purchase and cap with tassel depicting the color of their college and gown with pointed sleeves.  

Faculty order deadline March 22, 2024. Any faculty requiring regalia post 3.22.24 will need to stop by the UF Bookstore beginning April 22, 2024. https://commencement.ufl.edu/spring/doctoral-escorts/

Please note, the commencement office cannot assist with regalia orders, these must be managed through Regalia Services. Contact cap-gown@ufl.edu 

Cap & Gown Requirement

Degree candidates must wear regalia (cap and gown) in order to participate in the University Wide Commencement ceremony. 

The doctoral degrees ceremony and some college recognition ceremonies require regalia, others do not. Check with your college's recognition website or the College Recognition Ceremonies page for this information to ensure you plan accordingly.
