There is a severe weather plan for the University Wide Commencement on Friday, May 3 at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

The University Wide Commencement in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium will take place rain-or-shine on Friday, May 3 at 7pm. However, if lightning occurs within 8 miles of the venue, we may postpone or cancel the event, dependent upon the severity and duration of the weather event. Plans are in place for heat and rain.

HEAT:

  • Water bottles will be provided to each candidate before entering Ben Hill Griffin Stadium

RAIN

  •  Candidates will be provided with a clear poncho to wear over their robe if needed

In the event of severe or dangerous weather, the ceremony will be postponed or canceled. We will provide timely updates via our website https://commencement.ufl.edu, UF's radio stations WUFT 89.1 and WJUF 90.1 and, in the event of a cancellation, our UF Alert system.
