Faculty and staff working at their respective college ceremony should check in with their college's ceremony coordinator for instructions and information concerning those assignments.
- MARSHALS WORKING THE DOCTORAL CEREMONY
Faculty and staff working the at the doctoral ceremony should arrive in the O'Connell Center parking lot at 6:45am, then enter the O'Connell Center through Gate 4.
Proceed to the basement level in the Performer's Dressing Room where you will receive a marshal gown to wear over your business casual clothing. Comfortable shoes are recommended, as these roles require periods of standing and walking.
An outline of the duties marshals you will perform for the ceremony will be sent approximately one month ahead of time. A training will be held at 7am (30 minutes prior to doors opening for the ceremony) to ensure you understand your marshal assignment.
The ceremony will run approximately 2 hours plus a 20 minute processional. You will be needed through the duration of the ceremony. Afterwards, you will return your marshal robe to the Performer's Dressing Room.
Total time commitment: 4 hours, 15 minutes
- CHECK-IN HELPERS AT THE DOCTORAL CEREMONY
Faculty and staff working at the check-in station for the doctoral ceremony should park in the O'Connell Center lot at 6:45am and enter Gate 4 of the O'Connell Center by 7am. Business casual clothing is appropriate, "Gator Gear" is recommended but not required. A name tag will be provided. Comfortable shoes are recommended, as these roles require periods of standing.
An outline of the roles at the check-in station will be provided approximately one month before the ceremony. A training will be held at 7am (30 minutes before the doors open for the graduates to check in).
The ceremony will run approximately 2 hours plus a 20 minute processional. You will only be needed through the first 15 minutes (aproximately) of the ceremony.
Total time commitment: 2 hours, 30 minutes
- EMPLOYEE PARKING FOR THE DOCTORAL CEREMONY
Employee parking for the doctoral ceremony is in the O'Connell Center lot, in the spaces closest to University Avenue, allowing the garage and closer spaces to be available for our graduates and guests.
- MARSHALS WORKING AT THE UNIVERSITY WIDE COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY
The University Wide Commencement Ceremony is scheduled for Friday, May 3 at 7pm in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
Faculty working at this ceremony should arrive at the designated check-in space (TBD)
Faculty serving as marshals will receive a marshal gown to wear over your business casual clothing appropriate for the outdoor weather. Comfortable shoes are recommended, as these roles require periods of standing and walking.
An outline of your assigned marshal role will be sent approximately one month prior to the commencement ceremony. A training will be held on prior to the ceremony to ensure you understand your Marshal assignment.
The ceremony will run from approximately 7pm-9pm. You will be needed through the duration of the ceremony. Afterwards, you will return your marshal robe to the room where you obtained it.
Total time commitment: 5:30pm-9:15pm (approximately)
- CHECK-IN HELPERS WORKING AT THE UNIVERSITY WIDE COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY
The University Wide Commencement Ceremony is scheduled for Friday, May 3 at 7pm in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
Faculty and staff working at this ceremony as check-in helpers should arrive at the designated check-in room (TBD).
You will be provided with a name tag and an orange vest. Business casual clothing is appropriate, “Gator Gear” is recommended but not required. Comfortable shoes are recommended, as these roles require periods of standing.
An outline of your assigned role will be sent approximately one month prior to the commencement ceremony. A training will be held prior to the ceremony to ensure you understand your staff assignment.
The ceremony will run from approximately 7pm-9pm, but you will only be needed through the first 45 minutes of the ceremony. Afterwards, you will return your name tag and vest to the room where you obtained them.
Total time commitment: 5pm-7:45pm (approximately)

Faculty and staff working at the University Wide Ceremony will have a designated parking area. More details will become available as we get closer to the ceremony.
